Third Adventure. Part Three.

Thursday's adventures began with an old guy from a lame cover band mocking me for texting during their "performance" (if that's what you can even call it) prior to our Walmart US meeting.  By far, the coolest real performance was given by Sara Evans.

Once again, country music is not favorite, except that part of the brainwashing that occurred apparently included increasing my appreciation for and love of country music.  She is absolutely beautiful and she loves Walmart.  She said that when she's on tour, her whole family goes to Walmart and shops like they don't have anything at all.

And her guitar player was adorable.  When I was cropping the picture, I noticed a ring on an oh-so-important finger, but I can still admire from afar.

After our meeting, we had the rest of the day to spend at the Supplier Fair.  I didn't see as many famous people, but I did stop by the South Africa World Cup booth and here's the result:
I'm not exactly sure what type of creature this mascot is, but if it's South Africa, I'm there.

The lady I stood with when meeting Michael Oher told me that Olympic Snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis was there, but I didn't see her.  I had a picture taken with a random Nascar driver and I could've met Richard Petty, but, much to my hometown's dismay, I'm not really an avid fan of Nascar.   Towards the end of the Fair, we ran out of people to take pictures of and/or with, so this nice gentleman and his dog agreed to a picture or two.

Thursday evening's events included a minor league baseball game and fireworks.  Baseball is not really my favorite sport, but I do think this picture is cool. Go team!

There was this player on the other team, the catcher for the Texas Rangers...Taylor Teagarden.  I was a little obsessed with his last name.  How cool would it be to have Teagarden as a last name?

He didn't know it, but we were pretty much BFF until he dropped the ball.  I even went so far as to stalk him on Facebook. I never knew baseball could be so much fun.

And these fine gentleman in blue...

...I kid you not, they are synchronized dirt-smoothers. They had boy-band music and everything.

Funny story.  On Friday night, Andrew and I (he was my baseball-mocking BFF) totally could not remember what the blue guys were called.  I googled the team, the ballpark, frequently used baseball terms.  Nothing.  Beth from Waynesboro even texted several friends to see if it was an official title or just a local thing.  Groundskeeper? Dirt Duster? Still, nothing.  Andrew called the ballpark and we were told to call at 8 the next morning when Information/Customer Service would be available.  So, during our Detroit layover, at 10 a.m. local time, Andrew (my new hero) called Arkansas to inquire about the boys in blue.  Are you ready for this?  They are the "Drag Diggities" and they were the best part of the show.  Except when Teagarden dropped the ball.  Oh, and the fireworks were pretty cool, too.
