The Pizza Roll Rebellion...

I'm 27 years old. You'd think I have the ability to make decisions on my own. So, at 10:30 the other night, I was hungry. I decided I wanted pizza rolls. Not the healthiest choice, I realize, but it was my choice nonetheless. My mom said no. My dad said no. I tried to obey. I washed my face and decided I was still hungry. I walked past my parents' room and said I was going to have pizza rolls. My dad said my name rather loudly and told me not to. I did anyway. I've never really been the rebellious type, but apparently this was a moment that called for action. Let me sabotage my body if I want to, dang it! I'll be the one facing the consequences, i.e. needing a significantly larger size the next time I buy clothing. But it's my choice, right? I'm not necessarily proud of my miniature rebellion - I don't like to be disobedient - but I feel as though there ought to come a time in one's life when parents can no longer tell you what to do. I don't appreciate being scolded...ever. In times such as these, I miss living on my own. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents. I really, really appreciate them, especially for allowing me to live at home and mooch a little while longer. But, I also want to have my pizza rolls and eat them too. Is that too much to ask?

  1. HAHA! I love it. I never would eat pizza rolls, Mamma Carr would pitch a fit! So I kind of know how you feel. All we eat is vegetables which I love don't get me wrong, but I do love my occasional chicken nugget, or in your case a bag of pizza rolls.

  3. haha oh Kiely this brings back glorious memories. Remember sitting on the floor of the kitchen in the middle of the night laughing hysterically over Overeaters Anonymous? The ding of the microwave bringing people running? that is what this made me think of. Good for you for being strong and showing them who is boss! ;)
